In which the saga of R-Pod continues—and the saga of Z-Bear begins

Dad got his 85mm back recently. Now he has no more excuses.

Dad traded his perfectly good German glass for other perfectly good German glass.

This particular lens is optimized to render my toes perfectly. The Germans really do make good stuff.

Apparently it's a good lens to capture Riley while she's watching TV.

Dad let her shoot one of him too. This is Riley's first published image.

Dad says it took him years to make photos that good ...

... but we're still waiting to see just one that matches up.

If he keeps wasting his time practicing on pigs, it's never going to happen.

Oh! That's better.

Here I am at Auntie Elisha's house for Thanksgiving. Before we came here to eat cranberries, though, we went to the zoo.

Riley is now the perfect height to look at the geese in the pond.

Mom and Dad let me ride the polar bear on the carousel* today. That was great.

*Riley calls it the CAROUSELF.

I also got to ride on the choo-choo train.

Dad snapped off about three thousand frames because I was actually looking at the camera. (He used an autofocus lens today. LAZY.)

I made sure he got this face ...

Wait--I can do cuter!

See?

This guy got all up in our face during lunch.

Dad says he hasn't seen such aggressive rodents since he was mugged at rabies-point by two rats on the G train.

Riley thought this puddle was more interesting than the animals today.

She also really enjoyed her makeshift walkway.

That kid is growing up right before my eyes.
We needed to let some pumpkins rot on the front steps, so we headed out to PumpkinTown.
They have more than pumpkins, of course. For instance, there's mulch. I wonder ...
That's chewy!
Big sis thought her job was to organize everything.
ROGUE PUMPKIN!
She did this by herself, much to Mom's and Dad's amazement.
Good job, big sis.
Since it was one of the last warm days, dad took the opportunity to point his camera at the wrong things. These little guys are everywhere.
These guys too.
More of the same.
I guess this one is pretty cool.
Dad used the vintage f/2 macro for these.
It's pretty good, but I prefer modern lenses for closeup work.
Another leaf. Yep.
That's about it. Dad mercifully put all of these in one post, so the next one should have little if any filler.
