When Memorial Day came around, there was a party on my block. Nate was there …

… and so was Aaron.

WHEEEE!!!

Good times.

Aaron is moving soon–to the southernmost of the Carolinas, which sounds pretty southern to me.

It’s thataway (not really).

Nate takes this seriously.

Sometimes I even keep my feet on the pedals.

Most importantly, someone brought real brownies to the block party, and I ate as many as I wanted–even though we brought some kind of “orzo salad,” which seems like an uneven trade. We won!

Bike time!

We went to a state park in Longmont last weekend.

The idea was to look for birdies.

We did see a few birdies, but the two best things were rocks and ants.

I got to throw rocks …

… and I also got to watch lots and lots of ants bringing food back to their home. Dad says that ants buy groceries just like the rest of us.

Go, ants, go!

Zoe needed to break in her new crawlShoes in the living room, so Dad and I headed out to the Butterfly Pavilion together.

This is my friend Rosie, of course.

Dad and I agree that she’s like a puppy, but smaller …

… and with more legs.

She sure likes it when I pet her like a puppy.

After a nice visit with Rosie, I went into the butterfly area to do some research.

I used my ‘noculars and Dad used his camera.

He got only one today.

Yep. That’s a butterfly.

But just one.

Dad kept asking me to look through the correct side of the ‘noculars …

… but I wasn’t interested.

Yep. Butterflies.

Beach Grandma and Beach Grandpa brought me up to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (which I call MOUNTAIN CASTLE). There was a big expo there that day, so I met my new best friend.

I also got to try out “meteorology” in front of a green screen.

There were cue cards for me to read …

… which would have been helpful if I knew how to do that.

I am not one …

… to leave a polar bear hanging.

They also had arts …

… and crafts …

… but the best part was definitely the green screen! Click above! Now!
