June, 2009 Archives

My big sister Riley and I went to Zach's Happy Day party today.

There was ice cream cake.

Riley was more interested in watermelon, of course.

She also liked the balloons ...

... but mostly it was the watermelon.

She also got to play with other kids' toys.

Dad wandered around doing this, with a Nikon lens on his Canon camera.

Riley got to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey for the first time.

Bullseye!

She glowed with donkey pride.

You know what I think of Happy Day parties?

I think they are EXXXXXCELLLLLENTTTT!

Riley must think it's strange when I do my EXXXXXCELLLLLENTTTT pose, but really, she is the one wearing Pengit Boots in June.

See?

Dad is out of control.

The more creative half of Onion Basket Photography decided to point her camera at me.

I was ready for her. I even smiled!

Dad's nose got stuck in my cheek for a moment.

That made me a little sad ...

... but dad bounced me around to make me feel better ...

... and then it happened again.

This is my kid sister, Zoe.

And this is a flower.

Both of them were at the Denver Zoo yesterday.

So was I. We all went there for Father's Day.

Here. We were right here. This is part of the zoo.

I chatted with some animals.

I also learned about the standing broad jump.

The horse is quite good at it--even better than the ostrich.

Dad thinks it's cute that I was sitting like this.

That guy thinks everything I do is cute.

This is a lorikeet.

I fed her. They eat nectar, lorikeets do. They come from Australia, which is some kind of advanced utopia where college is free and cartoon animals are real.

As it turns out, I have Dad's unusual ability to communicate with animals.

Yeah, that's right.

All done, birdie?

She polished that thing off!

This is how a toucan eats grapes. I'm just saying.

I was putt-putting around the neighborhood the other day.

Ayup!

I like to know what's happening on the block. There's always something interesting going on.

By the way, here are my recent stats: weight, 10 pounds, 8 ounces (25th percentile); head circumference, 15.2 inches (45th percentile); height, 23.5 inches (75th percentile!); cheeks, walrus (Odobenus rosmarus).

My sister, Riley, likes to share her hat with dogs.

She's always doing something interesting with headgear.

I want to be just like her when I grow up!
