We went to the outdoor mall today.

They have a little playground for young adults such as myself, right next to the Starbucks.

Hooray for playgrounds!

Really, though, you can’t do better than a giant frog.

Playing with oversized amphibians makes me thirsty, though.

You see where this is going, I assume.

Yep.

Aqueous iced latte!

Yum.

I am an expert with a straw now.

See?

I’ll just sit here with my aqueous iced latte and my straw, being the young adult that I am.

Acting mature is key.

I need two or three of these just to wake up in the morning.

What do you mean, “caffeine is not for toddlers?”

Bah.

We walked back and forth across the bridge over the lake today.

On either side of the bridge, one can find plenty of fruit on the ground, thanks to the trees here …

… and goose poop, thanks to the geese here.

I prefer the fruit.

There was a block party on our block the other day. I got to sit in this portable chair.

I also got to walk around and forage for food!

Which should I eat–this piece of pita bread or this rock?

Pita!

See? Pita. Rocks are not food.

We live really close to the park.

Mom and dad take me here all the time.

I like to practice my crouching here. It’s like when the old people do tai chi in the town square–but I’m not old.

Crouch!

After a good solid crouch …

… I like to spring up!

Good times. Good times.

Enough exercise. On to the geese!

So, I like to pick berries and apples and cherries and try to feed them to the geese.

Here’s one.

Er–I mean two.

You do not go to these geese empty-handed.

I’ll just get these berries …

… and we’re off!

C’mon. They’re over here.

Here, goosey goosey …

This particular cherry does not seem to interest them.

Only one way to be sure, though. Here, goosey goosey!

Um, guys?

This also didn’t work when I tried to feed crab apples to the neighborhood cat.

I chased after her with an apple in my hand, yelling “kitty kitty kitty!”

Sometimes all you can do is crouch down and catch your breath.

If the geese aren’t hungry, the playground is only a few steps away.

Whoa!

Look out!

Yeah, I took some berries with me onto the swing. You never know if a goose might stop by.

This is the rock digger.

Basically, Mom makes a mess with the rocks and I clean it up.

It’s a living.
