Dad got to do whatever he wanted for Father’s Day, so he decided to make it a zoo day!

We saw elephants.

I wonder if I could trade my new pony for an elephant.

The carousel is pretty much the greatest thing ever.

It is the most efficient way to see what it’s like to ride all sorts of animals.

Dad says that some panthers in the wild don’t like wearing saddles, so this is also the safe way to go.

Mom and dad changed my diaper next to these bunny rabbits.

Then it was time for lunch in the zoo cafeteria. I used one of their “high” chairs.

I may have mentioned earlier that I can walk pretty much whenever I feel like it.

Special moving-picture bonus: I rode a giant panda today!

We went to the WOW Museum in Lafayette yesterday.

Science!

I enjoy a wind tunnel as much as the next baby.

Piano is still really easy for me.

It is technically a percussion instrument! Write that down!

This ride is my favorite part of the museum. It was out of order, but that’s OK.

Only 15 years until I get my permit!

I think the Create-a-Saurus exhibit was dad’s favorite.

I let mom help.

They had a big dino there.

I think maybe it wasn’t real, though.

If grandpa Ira were here, he would say something about isomorphism, and I would nod knowingly.

Special moving-picture bonus: I learned how to make a lake with my sippy cup. It’s great for splashing while eating watermelon.

I am at the front door with mom!

I can walk pretty much anywhere …

… as long as I have fingers to grab!

Ooh–what’s that?

No, no–look over there!

Made you look! I win! Give me a pony!

Dad said that keeping an aquarium takes a lot of effort. He was right. I work on mine every day.

I also have quite a few mammals, including this pig.

And of course a cow and a chicken. They are messy, but it’s not too bad.

You just need to set some basic rules.

No shoes in the house!

I need to have a talk with this chicken.

Phew. All that hard work makes me hungry. Yogurt time!

I like to think about spoons while I eat yogurt with my bare hands.

Oooh–I just had a great idea. It’s not very efficient to eat yogurt with my hands….

Much better.

If I have to use a spoon, it’s going to be a big one.
