In which the saga of R-Pod continues—and the saga of Z-Bear begins

I will be at the Knitting Factory on February 4. David Byrne will be opening for me with some kind of photo montage or whatever it is he does.

Now that my parents finally moved out of that tiny apartment, I don’t have to sleep in the dining room anymore. Here’s a photo of my very own room!

Now we have room to keep my books and toys where they belong, instead of in the refrigerator like we used to.

Nobody likes refrigerated toys.

Hooray for room-temperature toys!

That is Charles Darwin back there, next to the blue-footed booby. Makes a lot of sense, if you think about it.

Charles! Look at my room-temperature toy!

Auntie Kim made me this blanket.

I just need to check my references to confirm that Z is, in fact, for Zebra.

I’m dressed as if I were from “the seventies,” whatever those are.

Considering how great I look, I assume “the seventies” were a period of impeccable fashion and popular culture.

Really, though, you know we’ll all look back on the ’00s and realize that “the seventies” have nothing to be ashamed of.

This is my “nostalgic for a time before I was born” look.

On to more important things, though.

I can pretty much stand up on my own now and go to the store for gum and other baby needs.

I’m back in Boulder, where the blowfish toys are plentiful.

This is one of my favorite toys now.

When I grow up, I want to be a blowfish.

What’s the big deal? My parents said I can become whatever I want.

If that doesn’t work out, I’ll just be an astronaut.

Let me think about that for a moment.
